Guy Ben-Porat

Guy Ben-Porat is a Professor in the Department of Politics and Government at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His fields of interest are Israeli and world politics, peace processes, and religion and ethnicity. He is the (co)author of, Global Liberalism, Local Populism (Syracuse University Press, 2006); Between State and Synagogue (Cambridge University Press, 2013); Policing Citizens: Minority Policy in Israel (Cambridge University Press, 2016), all award winning books. Professor Ben-Porat's current research project studies new religious movements in Israel and examines how these movements established themselves in Israel. He received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (2001).
